Watching from the side lines in my younger youth in Cape Town I was fascinated by the Whitbread and Cape to Rio yacht races. It was not till I set off on my OE in the late seventies that I managed to further my interest by working in various boat yards and crewing.

After the last Clipper Cup 84 in Hawaii I crewed on a One Tonne to American Samoa and flew to New Zealand for a short stay, still in Kiwi Land I am married to Penny and have a son Henry (20) and a daughter Ashley (16).

Living in the City of Sails I have been fortunate to have the best cruising waters at my doorstep and have managed to partake in some awesome cruising and racing including the Two Handed Round the North Island, Short Handed Auckland New Caledonia and the Auckland Fiji Yacht Race
