MEPHISTO (Alan Yardley)
Description‘Mephisto’ is a 12.6m cutter rigged sloop built of GRP by the Ka-shing yard in Taiwan in 1983 and fitted out in the USA.
Design
The vessel was designed by Mike Kaufmann as a cruiser/racer.

Mephisto has an enviable pedigree including:

- Southampton cup
- St Malo cup
- 4th in class Southampton to Ouestrem
- Fastnet race 1993
- 4th in class Trans Atlantic 2 handed race East to West 1994
- Single handed Trans Atlantic crossing West to East in 1997
- Single-handed UK to Tahiti in 1999 with stopovers in St Lucia, Panama, Marquesses, and Tuamotus
- 2 handed from Tahiti to NZ in 1999 via Aitutaki and Tonga (follow on from Tuamotus
- SSANZ Easter cup 2004
- 2nd in class SSANZ Simrad series 2004
